Heitman, a global real estate investment management firm, has recruited ING Real Estate’s Scott Dwyer as head of portfolio management for the firm’s European private equity operations
Dwyer, who will be based in the firm’s Warsaw office and will report to European co-heads Gordon Black and Rob Reiskin, took up the role at the start of the month, joining from ING Real Estate where he was general manager responsible for asset management and disposals across Europe.
At ING, Dwyer had geographic responsibility for Germany, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Switzerland.
Black said: “As a seasoned professional whose reputation was already well known to us as well as our peers, Scott, whose career in the region spans 14 years, has the skill set and depth of operating experience in Europe’s real estate markets that allow him to navigate seamlessly through the various business cultures, climates, risks and issues found across the Continent.”
Reiskin added: “In our view, recruiting Scott Dwyer is a clear example of Heitman’s ability to identify and capitalise on uniquely strong opportunities and we anticipate our clients will recognise the versatility and excellence of his talents as they are applied to our broader European strategy.”
Between 2005 and 2009, Dwyer was as managing director, Central Europe for French real estate investment manager, Unibail-Rodamco and from 2002 to 2005 as country manager for Poland, at Rodamco Europe. E

Heitman, founded in 1966 and headquartered in Chicago, manages $25.7bn in assets invested directly and indirectly in real estate in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The firm’s clients include institutions, pension plans, endowments and foundations, and individual investors.
